Some of NOCS large collection of glass, china and pottery will be on display. Many of our items are souvenirs made especially for Newquay and bear the words "A Present From Newquay".
For those who have already seen the first floor of our Virtual Museum it will be an opportunity to seen it come to life for a day. (See our main website www.newquay.oldcornwall.org.uk) DISPLAY OF SELECTED ARTEFACTS
A number of interesting items from our collections will be retrieved from store and put on show.
The Humane Society Medal, awarded 14 August 1867 to Henry Hicks for his part in rescuing five young ladies at Fistral Beach. Shown together with a contemporary description of the events surrounding the rescue. Post Office Collection, including jewellery belonging to Mrs. Salmon Newquay's first Postmistress and the last ever cover to include 'Newquay' as part of the postal franking. more to come . . . Newquay Old Cornwall has a large collection of photographs. Thematic displays are in the course of preparation. Among those under consideration are the Harbour and the Pilchard Fishing industry, Royal visits, Shipwrecks and the Tramtrack.

Examples of our Archives, normally held in Room 27 of the Council offices, will be on show.
